- Content Summary:
- On 14 October 2023, Australians voted in a referendum about whether to change the Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing a body called the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice. This collection documents the "Sydney Walk for Yes" event which started with a rally at Redfern Park in Redfern, with the crowd then heading along Chalmers and Cleveland Streets to Victoria Park near Broadway. The collection documents the walk attendees and speakers including Yes23 spokesperson Rachel Perkins and Tribal Warrior chief executive Shane Phillips. Politicians in attendance included Federal Labor MP for Sydney Tanya Plibersek; Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young; N.S.W. Liberal parliamentarian Jacqui Munro and City of Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore.
