- Caption 'Bert Sayer's Skating Rink was opened in 1908. It was popular not only for skating but as a venue for union and other meetings. The Rink was located in a part of Broken Hill where most of the cheap lodging houses and pubs operated. Young itinerant mine workers dominated this section of town'.
