- The collection comprises a bound volume of a Journal of a voyage from Liverpool to Melbourne on board the ship James Booth, 19 October 1860-2 February 1861 by Claudius Beresford Cairnes. Claudius Beresford Cairnes commenced writing in the journal on 16 October 1860 whilst the ship was delayed for three days. The original journal is accompanied with a complete photocopy of the journal.
