- Correspondence between the editors of Art and Australia (including Mervyn Horton) and contributors to the journal, 1964-1969, as well as original manuscripts and typescripts of the articles submitted for publication, invitations, catalogues, card indexes, news releases, photographs, reviews, and other records. Correspondents include George Washington Lambert, Lloyd Rees, John Brack, Russell Drysdale, Hal Missingham, Sidney Nolan, Ruth Bain, Stephen Rainbird, Sasha Grishin, Deborah Edwards, Stephanie Britton and Colin Jordan.

The collection was donated to the Library by Mervyn Horton and others in fifteen instalments between 1969 and 1996.

In the 1996 addition (boxes 50-86), most of the files, which are administrative and editorial files, had been kept in alphabetical and subject order. Wherever possible this arrangement has been maintained by the Library.
