After his retirement from the Canberra School of Music, Llewellyn went to teach, as Artist-in-Residence, at the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music in 1981. Plans had been made for Chinese students to study with him there, as well as at his own home, 'Eastwood' near Mittagong.

In 1978 the Wollongong City Council bought the property 'Gleniffer Brae' and allocated the northern wing of the manor house to the Conservatorium. The minutes of meetings of the 'Gleniffer Brae' Developments Committee (1981) are included in the papers, together with a letter outlining plans for a Wollongong School of Music (1982). Also included is Llewellyn's manuscript timetable for 1982, and a 1982 Conservatorium handbook.

Immediate source of acquisition:
The papers were donated to the Library by Mrs Ruth Llewellyn in 1990 and 1994 An addition of papers relating to pianist Hephzibah Menuhin (Series 23) was donated to the Library by Mrs Ruth Llewellyn in 2001.
