- A collection of Martin's poetry, published by Edwards Shaw, Sydney in 1958. Included in this series are pages from a bound copy of the book produced by Book House Publishers, Melbourne, with the title 'The dragon of Bendigo and other poems, 1938-58' and dated 1956. It appears that publication of the book was taken over by Edwards Shaw of Sydney sometime after this date.
- Immediate source of acquisition:
- The main body of David Martin Papers was acquired partly under the Taxation Incentives for the Arts Scheme and partly by outright purchase by the National Library in September 1983. Additional instalments were purchased over the period 1985-97. The papers document the long career of one of Australia's most prolific writers.
