Background

Content Summary:

A collection of handbills, flyers, posters and large banners used at anti-carbon tax protest march held at Julia Gillard's electorate office in Werribee (Victoria) at 10:00 am on Saturday the 12th of March, 2011. Some items have been printed and bear authorisation statements indicating they were produced by organisations including Menzies House and the Community Action Network. Some larger items have been hand written or informally produced, and were designed to be held up during the march. Many feature content which personally attacked Julia Gillard, referring to her 2010 pre-election assertions that her government would not pursue an emissions trading scheme and naming her as a liar.

The ephemera collection contains documents of everyday life generally covering publications of fewer than five pages. These may include: advertising material, area guides, booklets, brochures, samples of merchandise postcards, posters, programs, stickers and tickets.
