Content Summary:This collection includes typewritten scripts of folklore musicals and operas for ABC radio broadcasts, children's stories, song lyrics, protest and political campaign songs, music scores, poems and working notes; as well as teacher's notes, study guides, run sheets, posters, school touring programs and itineraries, newspaper clippings, personal and business correspondence, thank you messages and artworks from schoolchildren. Also included are publicity materials for Alex Hood Productions, the Australian Folk Theatre, and the Jetty Theatre in Coffs Harbour. Alex and Annette Hood's time touring Australia to perform at schools is documented through photographs, including photographs of Indigenous Australian students from Northern Territory schools attending a music camp led by Alex Hood. Schools and related communities may include the following: Bathurst Island (Murrupurtiyanuwu Catholic Primary School), Milingimbi School (bilingual school teaching Djambarrpuyngu) (Yolngu community), Yuendumu (bilingual school teaching Warlpiri), Snake Bay, alternatively named Milikapiti (one of two Tiwi communities on Melville Island), Daly River - St Francis Xavier Catholic School, an Aboriginal Catholic school along the Daly River, Umbakumba - Alyarrmandumanja Umbakumba School - (Warinindilyakwa community), Wadeye – formerly known as Port Keats (Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Thamarrurr Catholic College) (Murrinh-Patha, Mati Ke and Marri-Djabin people), Barunga community - formerly known as Bamyili.
