Biography/History: Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party (also known as ONP, or One Nation) is a minor political party in Australia which was founded in 1997, by then-member of parliament, Pauline Hanson and her advisiors David Ettridge and David Oldfield. One Nation was formed following Hanson's disendorsment as a federal candidate for the Liberal Party before the 1996 federal election, after she made comments about Indigenous Australians. Pauline Hanson sat as an Independent for one year before forming One Nation. The party is a central-right nationalist organisation, and the party ideology has been referred to as nationalist, but also with strong conservative platform.
