- The records extend back to the formation of the Trust in 1954, but most of its early records have not survived. (Some early material may be found in the papers of Sir John Latham (MS 1009), who was the first President of the Trust.) The bulk of the records date from the period 1965-85. They include correspondence, minutes, financial records, subject files, press cuttings, scripts, scores, programs, publicity material, photographs and tape recordings.
- Provenance:
-
The Australian Elizabethan Theatre Trust presented the first instalment of its records to the Library in 1978. Other instalments followed in 1980, 1984, 1989 and 1998.
- Arrangement:
-
The records are arranged in box list order by consignment dates. Within each consignment the records have generally been arranged by the form of the material, such as correspondence, scripts or programs. All files have been kept intact and wherever possible the order of the files has been retained.
The financial records (boxes 135-382) have yet to be listed.
