Background
- Content Summary:
- The collection includes: office files; Interim Board, Governing Body, NFAW Board and Subcommittee minutes and supporting papers; legal papers relating to the setting up of the Foundation and associated Trusts; financial records; and photographs, correspondence and other papers relating to the NFAW's 1990 National Women's Conference, the 1989 NFAW Launch and the organisation's newsletter, Broadside. The office files comprise the major part of the collection and include administration and financial records, Board meeting papers and those of regional NFAW groups and the Coalition of Participating Organisations of Women (CAPOW), legal documents, Trust and Award papers and Broadsideadministration records.
- Provenance:
-
The National Foundation for Australian Women donated its records to the Library in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
- Arrangement:
-
The records were received in three separate consignments. The order of runs of office files from each consignment has been maintained, but the runs have been brought together in rough chronological order by the Library. Papers originally filed in ring binders have been transferred to archival files and their internal order maintained. Where the contents extend into several files they have been marked accordingly, eg Part 1 of 3. Papers received loose inside cartons have been separated into events or activities and placed in files with their internal arrangement maintained as closely as possible.
