Content Summary:

The Foreign Affairs Club was formed in 1971 to provide an opportunity for private discussion of the national and international issues affecting Australia's external relations. Club members, (who were also members of the AIIA) included senior officers of the Prime Minister's Dept.; the Departments of Foreign Affairs, Defence and Overseas Trade; Members of Parliament interested in foreign affairs; senior officers of the Armed Services, as well as academics, editors, judges, medical practitioners and business executives. Officers of the Club comprised a President, Vice-President and the Director of the AIIA.

The files have been arranged chronologically.

Immediate source of acquisition:
The records were donated by the Institute in two instalments in 1970, 1994 and 2002. Some financial records were returned to the Institute.
