Content Summary:
The collection comprises correspondence from readers of the Lonely Planet guidebooks about Asia, China, Indonesia, Bali and Lombok, South America, Argentina, Chile and Easter Island. The correspondents are mostly Australians, with some Americans and Europeans. The correspondence is mainly concerned with correcting or elaborating on the information in the guidebooks, but some of the correspondents also describe their experiences in these countries in some detail.
Provenance:

The papers were donated to the Library by Alan Samagalski. From 1982 to 1989 Samagalski worked for Lonely Planet Publications, the publisher of travel guide books based in Melbourne.
