- This series contains photocopies of letters and cuttings relating to the Survival in our own land: 'Aboriginal' experiences in' South Australia' since 1836. The book was initiated by the Aboriginal Executive Committee of the South Australian Jubilee 150 Board. Its aim was to record the effects that the European presence had on the Aboriginal people of South Australia over 150 years. Mattingley won the contract to research and edit the book. The project was funded by the South Australian Government. The original papers relating to this publication are in the Mortlock Library State Library of South Australia. Survival in our own land was published in 1988 and revised in 1992.
- Immediate source of acquisition:
- The papers were purchased from Christobel Mattingley in several instalments between 1990 and 1994. Further papers were received in 2002 and 2012.
