Harrison became a member of the Design and Siting Review Committee (DSRC), a government body, as a nominee of the National Capital Planning Committee. As a member of the DSRC, he participated in the determination of appeals lodged against refusals of the NCDC under its Design and Siting Policies. This work was in an honorary capacity. In 1984 Harrison resigned after being required to appear before the Deputy Ombudsman in a particular case: "I am not prepared to continue in a position where I can be summoned like a perfidious public servant by any nut who chooses to complain to the Ombudsman".
The series contains papers relating to appeals between 1981 and 1984, together with correspondence on Harrison's resignation.

- The papers were donated to the Library by Sheila Harrison in 1991. Small additions were made by Mrs Harrison in 1996 and by Ed Wensing in 1997.
