- The collection comprises catalogues, correspondence and reviews of all of Gascoigne's solo and some of her group exhibitions; correspondence between Gascoigne and dealers, personal correspondence, writings on poetry and Gascoigne's early creative life, publications which have used or refer to Gascoigne's work, her Order of Australia insignia and citation and other official documents, material relating to her overseas travels and exhibitions and a list of books held in her art library.

Sculptor. Rosalie Gascoigne began sculpting using scrap iron and wooden boxes whilst raising her children at Mt Stromlo, where her husband Ben Gascoigne worked as an astronomer. Gascoigne's first serious exhibition was at Ann Lewis' Gallery A in Paddington, New South Wales, in 1974. Four years later she had become a major figure in the Australian art world, with a survey at the National Gallery of Victoria. She showed at the Venice Biennale in 1982, the first Australian female artist to do so. In 1994 she became a Member (AM) of the Order of Australia for service to the arts. Gascoigne died in Canberra in 1999.
