Content Summary:

The four volumes comprise the following: I. Manuscript entitled "Ralph Rashleigh or the life of an exile" by Giacamo di Rosenberg (1 vol.), ca. 1845. II. Typescript entitled "Ralph Rashleigh or the life of an exile by Giacamo di Rosenberg", transcribed by Charles Bertie in the 1920s (2 vols.). A letter written by G. Wren Howard of Jonathan Cape to Bertie, 4 September 1929, concerning corrections in any reprint of the novel, is included in the first volume. The manuscript was first published in London by Jonathan Cape in 1929. A new edition was edited by Colin Roderick and first published by Angus and Robertson in 1952.

Original manuscripts of 'Jemmy Green in Australia' (c. 1845), a comedy in three acts, and 'The Grahame's vengeance' (c. 1845), an historical drama in three acts, by Otto von Rosenberg, bound in one volume. ('Jemmy Green in Australia' was edited by Roderick and first published by Angus and Robertson in 1955. An edited version of 'The Grahame's vengeance' was compiled by Roderick, and published by the Foundation for Australian Literary Studies at James Cook University in 1996).
