Records of the China Station including Australasia and the Pacific Islands containg correspondence relating to the Pacific, Australia and New Zealand about communications with Australia; coal supplies; protection of British interests in the Pacific; guano; the 'slave' trade in the Pacific and reports on islands visited. Records of Australian squadron, 1856-1858 in Piece 135.

The Australian Joint Copying Project filmed selected extracts from all pieces except for pieces 131-133,135, 138-141, 143, 144, 146-148, which have been filmed comprehensively.

The China station was established before the Australian station in 1859.
