Background
- Content Summary:
- Printed pamphlet entitled Letters from New Zealand by an ex-Canterbury resident, published in London, and dedicated to John Bull, Esq., Junior. It consists of ten letters and is mainly a philosophical comment on the New Zealand way of life but with important notes on particular features such as the importance of the discovery of gold, the need for railways, and Maori agitation. There is very little personal detail although the last letter on the botanic system of medicine relates his own experiences.
