MS 7981 comprises correspondence, press clippings, programmes, photographs, posters, financial records, contracts, music scores, scripts, administrative files, stage management reports and other papers dealing with the numerous concert tours, stage musicals and theatrical productions promoted by Miller from the late 1950s to the late 1970s. These include such artists as Louis Armstrong, Arthur Rubinstein, Roy Orbison and the Rolling Stones; such musicals as Hair and Jesus Christ Superstar; and, theatrical productions including The boys in the band and The secretary bird. The collection also includes material on individuals managed by Miller including Graham Kennedy, Barry Humphries, Dame Zara Bate and Sir John Kerr. Also present are papers of an autobiographical nature such as those relating to Miller's trials and imprisonment on fraud charges in the early 1980s (85 boxes, 26 large cartons, 5 fol. boxes, 1 fol. packet, 2 elephant folios).

MS 8341 comprises personal and professional correspondence, original music scores and published musical works, contracts, itineraries, concert programs and posters, newspaper cuttings, reviews, publicity material, an autograph book, newsletters, biographical material and photographs. The collection also includes the typescript of an unpublished biographical work titled 'Behind the scenes: what the audience never knew: a conductor's reminiscences', another unpublished autobiography, 'Maestro down under: fifty years of music', an unpublished article by Thomas titled 'Orchestras in the 21st century', and a copy of his book, A conductor's musings (some thoughts in verse).As well as the Australian Broadcasting Commission and numerous theatrical companies, correspondents in MS 8341 include Aaron Copeland, Colin Brumby, Lyle Cresswell, John Curro, Don Banks, Sir Bernard Heinze, Henry Krips, Charles Lisner, William Lovelock, Ezra Rachlin, John Reid, David Stanhope, Peter Tahourdin and Larry Sitsky (24 boxes, 2 fol. boxes, 1 poster tube).

Among the organisations with which Murdoch was associated were James Murdoch Management Pty Ltd, Lusillo and his Spanish Dance Theatre, World Record Club, Music Rostrum, Australian Music Centre, International Society for Contemporary Music, the Australia Council, Sydney Opera House Trust, Musica Viva and Chiron College. The correspondents include Margaret Sutherland, Roger Woodward, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, Donald Peart, Frank Callaway, Ian Farr, Nadine Amadio, Miriam Hyde, Peter Sculthorpe, Helen Gifford and Graeme Koehne (114 boxes, 1 fol. box).

MS 8083 includes material about Kelly's farm in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area, War Service Land Settlement Scheme, 1945-1947, Bureau of Agricultural Economics, 1948-1960, and the Beef Roads Scheme, 1961-1964; also photographs, newspaper cuttings, articles, interviews and Kelly's writings on his life. Several series cover published and unpublished works on all aspects of his careers. Research material for unfinished works is also included. Although described as the political father of the Snowy Mountains Scheme, very few papers are available to record his interest and involvement in this scheme (66 boxes).

Some series names in the collection are, Batman, Bulldog, Brandon and Horwitz. There are also comic fan magazines and some original cartoon drawings.
