Cecilia May Gibbs MBE (17 January 1877 – 27 November 1969) was an Australian children's author, illustrator, and cartoonist. She is best known for her gumnut babies (also known as "bush babies" or "bush fairies"), and the book Snugglepot and Cuddlepie. Her famous residence Nutcote was lived in by her for 44 years. May Gibbs' Nutcote is now a house museum located in Neutral Bay, Sydney. It has a New South Wales heritage listing and was opened to the public in 1994. It is managed by a Board on behalf of Nutcote Trust Pty Ltd, and is a venue for events relating to May Gibbs and her works.

Comprises correspondence, 1880-1963, relating to Thomas Griffith Taylor's travels and publications and some personal correspondence; manuscripts, published and unpublished, in typescript, handwritten and proof form; annotated printed material, including serials, books, pamphlets and reprints covering a wide range of subjects; and, miscellaneous material including press clippings, maps, medals, scrapbooks. Throughout his life Taylor kept copies of his letters and these form a journal-like account of his life and career on which he based his autobiography, Journeyman Taylor. The collection includes papers on Taylor's early years, 1880-1910; Antarctica, 1910-1912; Canberra and surrounding district, 1910, 1912-1928; Chicago University, 1929-1935; Toronto University, 1935-1951; Australian Institute of Geographers; Australian Academy of Science; and A.N.Z.A.A.S.

The memoir of Edward Robarts was written between 1811 and 1824. It covers his extensive travels in the preceding decades including: Cape Horn, Chile, the Galapagos Islands, Marquesan Islands (where he resided for several years), Tahiti, the Bay of Islands in New Zealand, Penang and Calcutta. The memoirs provide detail about the Marquesas Islands, including a vocabulary of language, and his life during this time, with information about his Marquesan wife and family. His life before and after leaving the islands is detailed, covering the many difficulties he experienced.

Memorandum book with short diary entries, lists of income expenditure and family biographical notes. The diary entries August-December 1841 describe weather conditions and daily routine on the voyage to Australia. There are lists of his earnings and places worked while a plasterer in Liverpool 1840-41 and Sydney 1841-50, and the earnings of William A. Kershaw 1841, 1845-46. At the end of the notebook are religious lecture notes, recipes and a list of distances travelled and places visited while constable at Braidwood, and an inventory of pistols, ammunition and other property given to him when sworn in as constable. Finally there are details of the birth and death of his parents, wife and children.
