Comprises published and manuscript planning maps of Canberra, including Gungahlin, Belconnen, Tuggeranong, Woden, Kambah, Watson and Hackett and architectural plans of residential and non-residential buildings as well as maps of Murrumbateman, Queanbeyan and the proposed township of West Murrumbidgee in the A.C.T. It also includes general maps relating to Australia, Victoria and New South Wales and some overseas maps.

Abstract Or Scope
Mr McKergow was one of the 100 Civil Construction Corps (CCC) crew who were encamped on top of the Paluma Range for two years during the Second World War. The timber extracted by the CCC was used by the army for buildings, railway sleepers and many other needs, even including war zone use. There are photos of Townsville during and after the war, showing Castle Hill, Garbutt Drome, and scenes connected to the U.S. Forces while the Battle of the Coral Sea was fought. The collection also consists of War petrol ration cards and copies of other documents issued during the war.

This collection includes post card correspondence to and from Hermann J. Asmus. Photographs include views of Canberra, the Federal Capital Territory, Warrnambool, Mildura, Shepparton, Ballarat, Creswick, Gippsland, Melbourne, Brisbane, Albury, Casino, Broken Hill, Burragorang, Launceston (Tasmania), Newcastle, Thursday Island and Sydney. The China photographs include views of Peking (Pekin), Tibet, Shanghai and Hankow, 10 of which are stereoscopic views. This collection also includes photographs of Japan, Singapore, Torres Straits and Hong Kong; portraits of Asmus, friends and family; views of the operating room at the ETO Melbourne in 1938; still life studies of flowers in vases and small ornaments; an example of Tibetan script. The Printed albums are Panoramic pictures New South Wales, Sydney illustrated and Seltona [photographic process].
