There are also research notes for Gordon Thomas's publication 'Prisoners in Rabaul: civilians in captivity', personal correspondence, and papers relating to Speer's wartime service and overseas travel.

Abstract Or Scope
This collection comprises papers accumulated by Griffin over the course of his life and work. Much of the material relates to Papua New Guinea and reflects Griffin's interest in the history and political affairs of that country, particularly relating to Bougainville, and includes research files, writings by Griffin about a variety of issues, and files relating to prominent Papuans, created whilst undertaking research for a proposed Dictionary of Biography. There are research files relating to books Griffin wrote on John Wren and Daniel Mannix, and a large group of drafts of writings by Griffin that include articles, speeches, seminar and conference papers, book and theatre reviews, and letters to the editor. Other papers relate to Griffin's work at the Townsville College of Advanced Education and his involvement in the publication of The Catholic Worker, including a large run of copies of the journal from 1964-1972.

The collection comprises papers relating to Frank Exon (OBE) and his wife Margaret (nee Henderson), compiled by their son Neville and includes: personal letters and diaries written by Frank and Margaret documenting their time living in Fiji and Pakistan in the 1950's; drafts of Frank's short stories; published articles written by Frank; documents and correspondence relating to Frank's work in Fiji as a radio engineer for Amalgamated Wireless Australasia (AWA) and in Pakistan, installing Australian-built shortwave transmitters and receivers under the auspices of the Colombo Plan; Henderson family documents, including a Boer War letter; documents relating to Frank Exon's service as a radio engineer with the Royal Australian Naval Radio Service during World War I; and a restored Amalgamated Wireless Australasia (AWA) leather suitcase used to house papers of Frank Exon.

The collection of papers accumulated while Heather and Ronald Newman lived on Ocean Island comprises of a diary kept by Heather and Ronald Newman from February to September 1962 detailing their experiences in Nauru and beyond, Correspondence and notes from their houseboy Rakenang about matters of hiring and household tasks, correspondence from a local woman asking for employment at Dr. Newman's practice, photograph album of the Newmans with local children, handwritten book 'Stories from the Gilbert and Ellice Islands,' and a a manuscript of The Japanese Occupation of Ocean Island and Nauru, Native Legends, The Diary Of D. Patrick Cook. It also includes ephemera and publications.
