Abstract Or Scope
The collection comprises papers relating to the Dunera Boys, gathered by Ken Inglis over years as an Australian historian. His final work "Dunera Lives" was published posthumously in 2018. The book tells the story of the famous "Dunera Boys": nearly 3000 Jewish refugees from Germany and Austria who were transported aboard HMT Dunera and landed in Australia in 1940. They were interned as "enemy aliens' in camps near Hay, Orange and Tatura during the Second World War. This collection comprises of Inglis's research for his book "Dunera Lives" and is made up of personal correspondence, research notes, newspaper clippings and drafts of publications and talks on the subject. A large component of the collection is comprised of folders on various Dunera and Queen Mary Internees, ordered alphabetically by surname. These folders include email correspondence with informants, newspaper cuttings, transcripts of interviews, and notes Inglis made detailing his thoughts on the individual's story, also include printed material, photocopies and notes containing biographical details of the Dunera Boys.

The bulk of the correspondence deals with conferences and seminars, publications, academic appointments, grant applications, examination of postgraduate students, study leave and book launchings. Papers of Verity Burgmann, c. 1956-2022

Abstract Or Scope
This collection comprises recordings and papers compiled by political scientist Verity Burgmann. The recordings are of interviews (1970-1994), speeches, meetings and protests of far-left wing activists (1981-2019), conducted by Burgmann and others. Prominent activists interviewed include Frank Hardy, Tom Payne, Lloyd Ross and Mary Wright (87 sound/av carriers) There are papers relating to the Australian Society for the Study of Labour history. These records from the Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney branches are complimented by a run of the Melbourne branch's newsletter 'Recorder', from 1964-2021 (incomplete). Other papers relate to Burgmann's academic life (1982-2020) with two main portions dedicated to applications to the Australian Research Council and other research grant schemes, as well as conferences attended (1979-1989). Burgmann's, working papers for The People's history of Australia, co-edited with Jenny Lee, are made up of correspondence with contributors, publishers and supporters of the project along with financial papers, summary drafts, style guides and charts. There are Burgmann's examiner reports, manuscript assessment and supervision samples from her time at the University of Melbourne as well as special studies program applications.

Abstract Or Scope
This collection comprises a large group of correspondence, both to and from Northcote Deck, mostly relating to his time with the South Seas Evangelical Mission (SSEM). His letters out contain detailed descriptions of his day-to-day life and issues arising in the Solomon Islands at that time. There is also a large group of Northcote Deck's writings including published and typescript versions of many of his articles, mostly intended for publication in Not in Vain, the SSEM journal, copies of his published books and drafts of a book on the Solomon Islands. Other material includes Queensland Kanaka Mission annual reports; issues of Not in Vain; and notebooks and loose pages of notes, most of a religious nature. The subject of the photographic material in the collection is mainly life and people in the Solomon Islands and is in the form of black and white photographs; black and white glass negatives, including family photographs taken by Harold Cazneaux; and coloured glass slides, used by Northcote Deck for presentations in Australia, England and Canada.

The collection comprises material relating to Australian barrister, politician and diplomat Sir Frederic William Eggleston, his father John Waterhouse Eggleston, his grandfather Reverend John Eggleston and family and includes: correspondence between Frederic William Eggleston and his immediate and extended family; administrative records; diaries covering his postings to Chungking [Chongqing] as Australia's first minister to China, to Washington as the Australian Minister to the United States of America, and attendance at the Paris Peace Conference in Versailles. The collection also includes: Eggleston's lectures and writings that reflect his career and interests in international diplomacy, law and the social sciences; his diplomatic passport; Chinese ID card; signature chops; and correspondence with the National Library of Australia.

MS 9061 comprises mainly correspondence, research material and drafts relating to the compilation of Duyker's publications. There are papers relating to Duyker's research into the history of Mauritius and his involvement in Mauritian family history research, including correspondence with genealogists. There is a copy of Gaston Sarre's Recueil de reseignements sur les familles de Lile Maurice, 1945, containing genealogical notes on 3000 Mauritian families. There is also correspondence between Bell, Regnard Co., Melbourne, and Pipon, Bell Co., Mauritius (1853-1855), concerning the importation of Mauritian sugar. A copy of Duyker's PhD thesis Tribal guerillas : the Santals of West Bengal and the Naxalite movement and associated research material is also included (19 boxes, 2 fol. boxes).
