Personal photograph album of W.A. Newman, documenting his and his family's time on Nauru between 1927 and 1933. The album begins with the Newman family's journey from Melbourne via Sydney to Nauru on board the steamer Nauru Chief, and then documents various aspects of life on Nauru at the time including housing, school facilities, Nauruan Scouts, local domestic staff and island landscapes.

This collection comprises Aitchison's diaries, letters, book reviews, press clippings, photographs, short stories, publications and a play. Included are Aitchison's drafts and memoirs titled "Memoirs: interviews with politicians" (undated), "Memoirs: one of Packer's boys" (undated), "Memoirs: lobbying for the rag trade" (undated). The collection also includes papers and correspondence between the Australian Confederation of Apparel Manufacturers (ACAM) and the Tariff board such as draft reports, newsletters and letters dating back to 1964, and during Aitchison's time working with trade and commerce, up until 1985. Also included are three editions of the Wings magazine containing Aitchison's three-part article on the 1927 Dole air race. Other items in this collection are: two letters from Kylie Tennant, a letter to Aitchison from Senator Steele Hall, a hand typed statement by Arthur Calwell for the press gallery regarding church and politics, photographs of politicians and a manuscript for a "political school book".

The collection comprises papers relating to the business and personal activities of Maldwyn Rees editor and compiler of The Welsh Australian - a magazine for the Welsh community in Australia, and his wife Blodwen. The Welsh Australian began publication in 1935 with articles and contributions solicited being drawn from correspondence within this collection. Maldwyn Rees' papers include material from various Welsh Australian churches and cultural activities of the welsh community. Rees served as the Sessions Clerk for the Welsh Presbyterian church for over thirty years during which time he was responsible for the publication of Y Ddolen - The Link. Rees resigned from this position in 1972. (5 ms boxes + 1 elephant folio + 1 map folio).The MS Acc13.176 consignment comprises papers collected and created by Maldwyn Rees including early copies of the The Welsh Australian from the 1930s and 1940s; papers of Maldwyn and his wife Blodwen Rees relating to Welsh people and events in Australia including photographs and newspaper clippings and correspondence; a dvd of photos of Welsh events and family gatherings between the 1950s and 1990s; an album containing photos of early Welsh acitivites; copies of letters written by Blodwen Rees and her sisters about early years in Australia after migrating from Wales. Group photographs are of social events with some accompanying notes record picnics and of note a choral event held at David Jones in Sydney where members of the Jones family are mentioned. The collection comprises photographic prints, negatives, publications and ephemera documenting the political, cultural and social life of Melbourne in the mid 1990s, with a focus on marginal groups and protest movements. These groups and movements include: biker groups; Vietnam Veterans, conflict between anti-immigration and anti-racism groups, and the female ordination movement. These photographs were taken while Janet Hawkins was completing four years of study at Photography Studies College in Melbourne.

The collection includes National Capital Authority files, Canberra National Memorials Committee meetings and minutes and Lake War Memorial Forum submissions to the Parliamentary Joint Standing Committee on the National Capital and External Territories.
