MS 8257 comprises the constitution, by-laws, accounts, minutes, correspondence, publications, press cuttings and photographs. Some correspondence received from the Youth Hostels Association in 1944. Also included are copies of papers relating to Gudgenby Station, 1879-1926. Summaries of oral history interviews conducted in association with the National Library of Australia (9 boxes).The Acc09.197 instalment comprises transcripts of oral history interviews with Noreen (Neen) Pendergast, Bert Russell, Len McInnes, Ena Harris and Vera Campbell, conducted and transcribed by Deirdre Shaw, and the transcript of a talk by George Rayner at Kelly's Mill on the Snowy Mountains Highway, introduced by Graeme Scully (1 packet).

The collection includes correspondence, manuscript and typescript drafts, page proofs, notebooks, photographs, newspaper cuttings and other printed material. There are family papers, including material relating to Campbell's father, Alfred Campbell, and sister, Meg Campbell. The collection also features a RAAF flying logbook kept by Campbell, 1939-1945, and a caricature of Campbell by John Frith.

They record Harrison's long and distinguished career as a minister of the Presbyterian Church. He was minister and friend to men and women from all walks of life including Prime Ministers, Governors-General, ambassadors and his parishioners.

The papers consist of correspondence, literary works, photographs, sound and video recordings, theatre programs, posters and press cuttings, with the largest part of the collection being preparatory notes, drafts and manuscripts of Hewett's literary works. Major correspondents include Robert Adamson, Josephine Barnes, Rolf Hennequel, Elizabeth Jolley, Drusilla Modjeska, Stephen Murray-Smith, Hal Porter, Max Williams and Fay Zwicky. Other correspondents include Frank Hardy, Alan Marshall, David Martin, Katharine Susannah Prichard and Richard Wherrett.

Papers of Geoffrey Sawer, 1937-1995

Whilst Sawer considered his papers to be of 'marginal importance', the collection, which dates back to the late 1930s, contains some interesting original material, including diaries, draft legal opinions, autobiographical writings, and correspondence with prominent individuals. Sir John Latham, Sir Owen Dixon, Sir John Barry and Lord Denning, and other politicians and judges number amongst Sawer's many noted correspondents on constitutional matters. Also included are cuttings documenting his long running 'Between the lines' newspaper column, and radio transcripts from his involvement with the Short Wave Propaganda Division of Radio Australia during World War II.
