Flexmore Hudson (1913-1988) was an Adelaide based poet and author, publishing 6 books of poetry between 1937 and 1959. Hudson also worked as a teacher, freelance writer, and for the ABC [Australian Broadcast Network]. This collection comprises his correspondence with Australian and overseas poets, writers, scholars and artists; original notes; prose manuscripts; photographs; and business books of Poetry a quarterly literary Journal which Hudson launched in 1941 and edited for seven years.

The papers relate to the later part of Blain's career as a broadcaster. Letters from family, publishers, and the listening public make up the bulk of the collection. The fan mail to the program 'Let's find out' in both 1968 and 1970 is quite considerable. Blain received rejection letters for several of his publishing proposals, including a book on the ABC which was eventually published by Methuen.

They consist mainly of personal correspondence between Beryl Henderson and Edna Ryan over a period of thirteen years (1977-90). Edna Ryan had kept Henderson's letters and also a carbon copy of her response to each letter. She had also preserved other material including correspondence with others and newscuttings relating to the translation of Abortion: the Bobigny affair from the French. Edna Ryan acted as agent for Beryl Henderson in negotiations with the publisher, Wild and Woolley, and also assisted in fundraising activities to enable the book to be published in Australia.
