Abstract Or Scope
The Maroussia Richardson Collection comprises papers relating to Richardson's mother, Betty Frank, and consists largely of letters by Frank to her mother, Amy Scorer, during Frank's tour of Australia and New Zealand as a member of Colonel W. de Basil's Monte Carlo Russian Ballet, 1936-1937. Frank danced with the company under the name Elisabeth Souvorova. There are also typed transcripts of the letters, together with photographs, newspaper cuttings, programs and related papers.

It includes correspondence with L F Fitzhardinge; Verity Fitzhardinge's correspondence and notes for A Man's Man, her memoir of George Lacey Lee; her trips to New Zealand, England, Europe and Afghanistan; her bookshop business; farming; teaching at Telopea Park School and various Canberra, Queanbeyan and Glen Innes schools; job applications; and her interests in Russia and politics. The letters record details of Canberra, Queanbeyan and surrounding regions from 1930s to 1980s.

Correspondence, literary drafts (mostly typescript), subject files, photographs, newscuttings and copies of issues of journals containing articles by Ruhen. The correspondence includes family and personal correspondence, in addition to extensive files of correspondence with publishers and agents in Australia and overseas. The literary drafts date from the 1930s and include drafts of novels, short stories, book reviews and non-fiction works. The photographs include family photographs, wartime photographs and photographs taken during trips connected with Ruhen's writing. Included amongst the publications is a set of the first two years' issues of "People" magazine with a typed index by Ruhen.

The records of MS 1972 comprise minutes, agenda and business papers from the A.C.T. Branch monthly and annual general meetings, financial statements and receipts, Branch newsletters, reports of Branch sub-committees and Boards of Examiners, applications for L.A.A. membership, general business correspondence, correspondence between the Branch and the general secretary in Sydney, newspaper clippings, and L.A.A. handbooks. Also held are the records of LAA 50, a committee set up to organise the commemoration, in September 1987, of the founding of the Australian Institute of Librarians in 1937. A small portion of the records relate to the A.C.T. Branch of the Australian Institute of Librarians.
