MS 8534 comprises: 1. Photocopies of letters, photographs, news cuttings and pamphlets, 1832-1892, which relate to Honor Thwaites' ancestors Hastie and Alexander Dennis of Colac, Victoria, and Andrew and Celia Scott of Buninyong, near Ballarat. Also included in these two folders of family history are some photocopies of correspondence and genealogy charts, 1971-1992, relating to Honor Thwaites' ancestors. 2. Correspondence, news cuttings, leaflets, accounts and other papers, 1977-1992, which document the work of the Thwaites in ensuring the creation and preservation of the Remembrance Nature Park on the slopes of Mount Ainslie, Canberra. 3. Disc with the title "Memoirs-Honor Thwaites". 4. Musical scores of Michael Thwaites' poems: "Easter hymn" by George Fraser, 1947 (published score) and "Colours" by Terence A. Williams, 1944 (manuscript score) (1 box).The Acc06.126 instalment consists of papers accumulated by Michael Thwaites during the course of his life and career. There is correspondence, poetry manuscripts and notes, lecture notes, financial records, cuttings and biographical material. Also included are diaries and correspondence of his wife Honor Thwaites and papers relating to the establishment of the Remembrance Nature Park (70 boxes).The Acc09.71 instalment comprises correspondence, mostly from 1993, notes and notebooks, three microcassettes and papers relating to Michael Thwaites' funeral and memorial service (2 boxes).The Acc13.060 instalment comprises a collection of notebooks, notes and drafts of writings by Michael Thwaites, loose personal correspondence, an album of postcards and two sketchbooks (1 box).The MS Acc20.002 instalment comprises an edited and corrected transcript of Honor Thwaites memoir by M.R. The papers cover Lawrence's writing career from the publication of his first book of poems in 1989 to his seventh book, a novel, published in 2000. The bulk of the collection comprises drafts of Lawrence's poetry. The drafts provide an insight into his creative processes, documenting the various stages the poems go through as they are written and rewritten. There also working notes and drafts of Lawrence's play The boneyard, and his first novel In the half light.

The Inglis Moore Papers document his interest and involvement in the promotion, study and teaching of Australian literature as a critic, academic and administrator. The correspondence reveals his extensive network of contacts in the field. These included almost all of the prominent Australian writers and critics of the period 1940-65. This correspondence, together with Inglis Moore's teaching and research files, drafts of his critical and creative writings, and papers documenting his involvement with the Commonwealth Literary Fund, the Australian Society of Authors and the Fellowship of Australian Writers, constitute one of the National Library's finest literary collections.

Boxes in the original collection run have three sets of identifying numbers: those originally assigned by the ACNT, those applied by the commercial storage facility, National Record Managers, and the current consecutive sequence applied by the Library. The Library was selective in accepting material from the collection stored with National Record Managers: around two thirds of that material is retained in the current NLA collection. The latter comprises correspondence with internal and external agencies, promotional pamphlets, meeting and conference minutes, policy and planning documents, reports, photographs, press clippings and materials relating to specific conservation/heritage sites and campaigns. There are also separate files on external bodies such UNESCO and the International Council of Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS).

MS 3921 comprises papers relating to Philip Strong's years in New Guinea including a number of addresses to the Synod, processed letters to the missionary staff and pastoral messages. There is a typescript copy of Strong's recollections of his first three years in New Guinea written in 1942, a copy of his book Out of great tribulation (1947) and about 25 pamphlets all relating to Anglican missionary activity in New Guinea. The collection also includes about 15 pamphlets relating to the period when Strong was archbishop of Brisbane and primate of Australia.The Acc07.047 instalment comprises correspondence, photographs, diaries, publications, prayer books, sermons, notebooks and drawings.The Acc09.116 instalment comprises papers documenting Strong's childhood, education and professional life in the Anglican Church. They include correspondence, diaries, notes and notebooks, sermons and addresses, publications and reminiscences of wartime Papua New Guinea.The Acc13.109 instalment comprises 40 diaries and some correspondence relating to Sir Philip Strong's time in New Guinea.
