Correspondence from Carol Jerrems to Jon Conte, 1970-1973

This collection comprises correspondence sent by Carol Jerrems to her friend and fellow photographer Jon Conte from 1970 to 1973, and one vintage silver gelatin photograph. Rather than traditional letter, the correspondence between Carol and Jon took the form of a 'Dadaist ping-pong', or collages of everyday life. It consists of 23 envelopes with ephemera, including snippets of Carol Jerrems' writing. The collection provides an insight into Carol Jerrems' sense of humour, lifestyle, and personality. Some envelopes are signed by Carol Jerrems under a pseudonym, such as Jerry Moonshine, Jerry, Phenomenologically Jerry, Micky Spillane of the Nullarbor Plain, Jonny Sunshiner, A Free Apple, Lorac Smerrej, or Germaine Eunuch. The 24 jigsaw puzzle pieces photograph is a portrait of Jon Conte with his incomplete appearance.

Correspondence of the Gascoigne family, 1971-1980

The collection primarily comprises correspondence received by Martin Gascoigne from his parents Rosalie and Ben Gascoigne, his brother Toss and his sister Hester. This family correspondence covers an important period of the Gascoigne family's lives and careers and was a critical source for Martin Gascoigne's Catalogue Raisonné of Rosalie's work published by the ANU Press in 2019. There is also a small amount of other personal and business correspondence written and received by Martin. The collection includes transcripts of many of the letters written to Martin Gascoigne, with annotations by Martin regarding references to Rosalie Gascoigne's art.

Maurice Bramley archive, approximately 1933-1970

Abstract Or Scope
This collection of works by Maurice Bramley includes original sketches for magazine covers, comic book covers and short pulp fiction filler stories. Bramley was the primary illustrator for Horwitz Publications, which dominated the Australian comic book market with U.S. reprints of popular war and western titles in the 1950s and Marvel superhero titles in the 1960s. The collection includes the original sketch for Kid Colt, Outlaw – Six guns dig for Gold! Issue no. 121 and sketches for commercial publications such as a small feature on the development of the airline industry. The collection provides an insight into the skilled draughtsmanship of Bramley and more broadly the production of commercial imagery for publication in mid-century Australia. The stories and illustrations also capture the particular sentiments of the popular Australian market. The collection also includes newspaper clippings with examples of Bramley's published work, official movie studio photographs most likely used as inspiration for his illustrations, and copies of seventeen comic books from the 1960s.

Papers documenting Andrew Crocker's role as art coordinator at the Papunya Western Desert community in the 1980s.They include scrapbooks, news cuttings, articles by and about Crocker, articles by other writers, correspondence, children's drawings and photographs. The photographs, largely uncaptioned, include images of Papunya Tula artists and their work. Correspondents include Charles Duguid, Malcolm Fraser and Edward de Bono.

The bulk of the papers relate to Hill's published works, forming a comprehensive record of his literary career. There is research material, notebooks, manuscript and typescript drafts, galley and page proofs, correspondence and letters from readers. Major correspondents are Rosemary Creswell (Hill's agent), Max Harris and the numerous publishers with whom Hill dealt. There is a small group of drafts of unpublished short stories, plays and poems and cutting books containing copies of newspaper and journal articles by and about Hill, including reviews of his books.MS Acc12.120 comprises typescript manuscripts, proofs, drafts, outlines, story files, research notes, diaries, ephemera, posters and correspondence relating to Anthony Hill's publications, primarily "Animal Heroes", "Captain Cook's Apprentice" and "The Story of Billy Young".

This collection comprises personal letters, manuscripts, and a scrapbook containing cuttings of her short stories that were published, often in the 'Children's Corner' of the Tasmanian Mail. The collection includes her wooden writing slope, personal documents relating to her education, sketches and watercolours, and miscellaneous newspaper clippings. There are also receipts, invoices, and other documentation relating to her only published book Santa Claus and the Shadow. Also included in this collection is the Papers of Percy White, Beatrice's husband. Percy's archive comprises photographs, genealogical research, and correspondence between the family.
