As well as the Wynnum By-election (28 April 1934) and the Australian Labor Party Senate Selection Ballots for 1931, 1934 and 1937. The collection covers mainly printed materials issued by the parties and independents for both Houses of Parliament. The range of ephemera includes leaflets, flyers, newspaper clippings, envelopes and tickets.

Includes photographs of various places in Australia, namely, Magnetic Island, Bowen, Rockhampton, South Molle Island, Normanton, Cloncurry, and, Townsville in Queensland, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Circular Quay, Fort Denison, and St. Mary's and St. Stephen's churches, and the ANZAC Memorial in Sydney, Provisional Parliament House and Australia War Memorial in Canberra, RAAF Bases in Richmond, Bowen, Inverleigh, Pearce, and Torrens Creek, and, University of Western Australia. Some photographs were taken overseas, including Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Japan and Indonesia. The collection also includes many portraits, and images using experimental exposure techniques.

MS Acc10.031 comprises papers documenting Wilfred Burchett's professional life as a journalist and non-fiction writer, including his legal battles to be re-issued with a passport after his British one was cancelled and during his Australian defamation case, as well as aspects of his personal life. The collection comprises correspondence, notes, draft articles and book manuscripts, press cuttings, research material, film and television proposals and scripts, financial papers, publications and photographs. The correspondence includes copies of Burchett's own letters; many of those addressed to his wife and family describe his activities in the field.
