Collection comprises a diary in seven volumes, primarily written continuously by Felton Mathew from 3 August 1829-December 1835. Volume 1. Journal kept by Mathew during voyage to Australia per Morley 3 August-3 December 1829, in same volume as diary of Felton Mathew recording his surveying work in the Hawkesbury and Hunter District from 1 January 1830 to 13 September 1832. Also includes loose diary entries dated December 1829 to December 1835. (1 volume); Five volumes (numbered 2 to 6), 20 February, 1833-3 May 1834, containing diary of Mrs Felton (Sarah) Mathew, 20 February 1833- 3 May 1834; [Volume 7]. The collection comprises the leather bound diary of Thomas Davies' voyage from Plymouth to Port Adelaide on the "Lord Raglan", from 27 June 1854 to 25 October 1854. The diary is accompanied with a press cutting about Thomas Davies' son, Alfred Herbert Davies, published in a local newspaper 'The Recorder', Port Pirie, South Australia, Friday Morning, December 16, 1938.

The collection comprises a bound volume of a Journal of a voyage from Liverpool to Melbourne on board the ship James Booth, 19 October 1860-2 February 1861 by Claudius Beresford Cairnes. Claudius Beresford Cairnes commenced writing in the journal on 16 October 1860 whilst the ship was delayed for three days. The original journal is accompanied with a complete photocopy of the journal.

MS 9923 comprises papers collected by Charles Ulm as well as those collected by his son, John. The papers comprise newspaper cuttings, stamps, commemorative envelopes, correspondence, brochures, research notes, articles, reviews, certificates, talks, handwritten notes, photocopies of government records, business papers, photographs, maps and ephemera. The largest series in the collection is the commemorative and philatelic material, comprising stamps, commemorative envelopes, tribute albums, newspaper cuttings, articles and reviews relating to the 50th anniversary of the first trans-Pacific flight. The 1928 flight saw Charles Ulm fly with Charles Kingsford-Smith on the Southern Cross from Oakland, California to Brisbane, Australia (8 boxes, 1 fol. box).

This collection comprises volumes of poetry, note and recipe books, correspondence to and from Chris Woodland and music. Also various archived and miscellaneous material from the Wild Colonial Days Society (WCDS). There are issues of some WCDS N.S.W. branch journals (August 1967 - August 1968) and the 'Fossiker' March - August 1968). Papers include correspondence (bound), an address book, questionnaire and membership forms, the society's revised constitution, a members re-enactment report and note books with the handwritten meeting minutes. Newspaper clippings (some photocopied), photographs and ephemera highlight the society's activities, centenary events and historical re-enactments of The Capture of the Clarke Brothers, The Cobb and Co. run, The Shooting of Johnny Gilbert, The Bargo Bush murder, the Ben Hall gang and the shooting of Constable Nelson. The are numerous tickets and programmes to balls, dances and concerts with flyers, a felt banner and a typed film scripts with one titled 'HMS The Branch of justice'.
