Presenter and administrator, Adrian Jose began his long career in Australian broadcasting as a radio announcer-in-training with the Australian Broadcasting Company in 1930. He held a number of management positions in Queensland and New South Wales branches of the Australian Broadcasting Commission before his 1949 appointment as Director of Programme Services at the Australian Broadcasting Control Board, a post from which he retired in 1971.

Politically, the turmoils of the Australian Labor Party and Australia's involvement in the Vietnam war were topical issues.

The collection comprises drafts of the Australian author Colleen McCullough's early writing, including: early first drafts (plus draft film script) of her first published novel 'Tim' (1974) - draft title "Not the Full Quid" - written when McCullough was working as a neurophysiologist at Yale University in the USA; numerous drafts of unpublished poems, some with handwritten meter notations; drafts of short stories with the titles "Mer-Song", "Oft in the Stilly Night", "The Mudhole", "Michael", "A Few Cat Tales", "No Psychological Strings Attached"; and three letters - one from Margaret Latrobe to McCullough, one from John [surname unknown] to McCullough plus a response from McCullough to John. The majority of the records are typed and many include handwritten edits and notations and only nine of the works include dates.

This collection comprises the papers of historian Brij Lal and ecological economist Padma Narsey Lal. Brij Lal's papers relate to research conducted into Fijian economic and political systems, including the history of Indian indentured labour in Fiji. Included are handwritten research notes, news cuttings, council papers and reports, and Brij Lal's undergraduate papers. Padma Narsey Lal's papers consist of research, reports and studies relating to the sugar industry and associated environmental issues, in particular mangrove conservation, and include over 100 slides depicting farming and infrastructure. The collection also contains recorded interviews with Jai Ram Reddy, the former attorney General of Fiji; academic Ken Gillion's research notebooks and related slides; and publications relating to Fiji, the Indian diaspora, Fijian politics, Pacific history, the Fijian sugar industry and the conservation and economic valuation of mangroves in Fiji.
